But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread
alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.' "

5:6 塵からは、災いは出てこない。土からは、苦しみは生じない。

5:8 わたしなら、神に訴え／神にわたしの問題を任せるだろう。
5:9 計り難く大きな業を／数知れぬ不思議な業を成し遂げられる方に。

5:11 卑しめられている者を高く上げ／嘆く者を安全な境遇に引き上げてくださる。
5:12 こざかしい者の企てを砕いて／彼らの手の業が成功することを許されない。
5:13 知恵ある者はさかしさの罠にかかり／よこしまな者はたくらんでも熟さない。
5:14 真昼にも、暗黒に出会い／昼も、夜であるかのように手探りする。
5:15 神は貧しい人を剣の刃から／権力者の手から救い出してくださる。
5:16 だからこそ、弱い人にも希望がある。不正はその口を閉ざすであろう。

5:5 Because the hungry eat up his harvest,Taking it even from the thorns,And a snare snatches their substance.
5:6 For affliction does not come from the dust,Nor does trouble spring from the ground;
5:7 Yet man is born to trouble,As the sparks fly upward.
5:8 "But as for me, I would seek God,And to God I would commit my cause-
5:9 Who does great things, and unsearchable,Marvelous things without number.
5:10 He gives rain on the earth,And sends waters on the fields.
5:11 He sets on high those who are lowly,And those who mourn are lifted to safety.
5:12 He frustrates the devices of the crafty,So that their hands cannot carry out their plans.
5:13 He catches the wise in their own craftiness,And the counsel of the cunning comes quickly upon them.
5:14 They meet with darkness in the daytime,And grope at noontime as in the night.
5:15 But He saves the needy from the sword,From the mouth of the mighty,And from their hand.
5:16 So the poor have hope,And injustice shuts her mouth.
5:17 "Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects;Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
5:18 For He bruises, but He binds up;He wounds, but His hands make whole.
5:19 He shall deliver you in six troubles,Yes, in seven no evil shall touch you.
5:20 In famine He shall redeem you from death,And in war from the power of the sword.
5:21 You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue,And you shall not be afraid of destruction when it comes.
5:22 You shall laugh at destruction and famine,And you shall not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
5:23 For you shall have a covenant with the stones of the field,And the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you.
5:24 You shall know that your tent is in peace;You shall visit your dwelling and find nothing amiss.
5:25 You shall also know that your descendants shall be many,And your offspring like the grass of the earth.
5:26 You shall come to the grave at a full age,As a sheaf of grain ripens in its season.
5:27 Behold, this we have searched out;It is true.Hear it, and know for yourself."
◆大きな苦難を予告する

24:15 "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),

24:17 "Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.
24:18 "And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.
24:19 "But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
24:20 "And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.
24:21 "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.
24:22 "And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.
24:23 "Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it.
24:24 "For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
24:25 "See, I have told you beforehand.
24:26 "Therefore if they say to you, 'Look, He is in the desert!' do not go out; or 'Look, He is in the inner rooms!' do not believe it.

15:2 "Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread."
15:3 He answered and said to them, "Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?
15:4 "For God commanded, saying, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.'
15:5 "But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or mother, "Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God"-
15:6 'then he need not honor his father or mother.' Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.
15:7 "Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:
15:8 'These people draw near to Me with their mouth,And honor Me with their lips,But their heart is far from Me.
15:9 And in vain they worship Me,Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' "
15:10 When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, "Hear and understand:
15:11 "Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man."
15:12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, "Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?"
15:13 But He answered and said, "Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.
15:14 "Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch."
15:15 Then Peter answered and said to Him, "Explain this parable to us."
15:16 So Jesus said, "Are you also still without understanding?
15:17 "Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated?
15:18 "But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.
15:19 "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.
15:20 "These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man."

15:2 "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
15:3 "You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
15:4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
15:6 "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
15:8 "By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
15:9 "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.
15:10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
15:11 "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
15:12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.
15:14 "You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.
15:15 "No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
15:16 "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

7:15 この空しい人生の日々に／わたしはすべてを見極めた。善人がその善のゆえに滅びることもあり／悪人がその悪のゆえに長らえることもある。
7:16 善人すぎるな、賢すぎるな／どうして滅びてよかろう。
7:17 悪事をすごすな、愚かすぎるな／どうして時も来ないのに死んでよかろう。
7:18 一つのことをつかむのはよいが／ほかのことからも手を放してはいけない。神を畏れ敬えば／どちらをも成し遂げることができる。
7:19 知恵は賢者を力づけて／町にいる十人の権力者よりも強くする。
7:20 善のみ行って罪を犯さないような人間は／この地上にはいない。
7:21 人の言うことをいちいち気にするな。そうすれば、僕があなたを呪っても／聞き流していられる。
7:22 あなた自身も何度となく他人を呪ったことを／あなたの心はよく知っているはずだ。
7:23 わたしはこういうことをすべて／知恵を尽くして試してみた。賢者でありたいと思ったが／それはわたしから遠いことであった。
7:24 存在したことは、はるかに遠く／その深い深いところを誰が見いだせようか。
7:25 わたしは熱心に知識を求め／知恵と結論を追求し／悪は愚行、愚行は狂気であることを／悟ろうとした。

7:4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning,But the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.
7:5 It is better to hear the rebuke of the wiseThan for a man to hear the song of fools.
7:6 For like the crackling of thorns under a pot,So is the laughter of the fool.This also is vanity.
7:7 Surely oppression destroys a wise man's reason,And a bribe debases the heart.

7:14 In the day of prosperity be joyful,But in the day of adversity consider:Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other,So that man can find out nothing that will come after him.
7:15 I have seen everything in my days of vanity:There is a just man who perishes in his righteousness,And there is a wicked man who prolongs life in his wickedness.
7:16 Do not be overly righteous,Nor be overly wise:Why should you destroy yourself?
7:17 Do not be overly wicked,Nor be foolish:Why should you die before your time?
7:18 It is good that you grasp this,And also not remove your hand from the other;For he who fears God will escape them all.

7:29 Truly, this only I have found:That God made man upright,But they have sought out many schemes.
15:17 "These things I command you, that you love one another.
◆エルサレムに向けられる剣
21:1 主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ。

21:14 「人の子よ、預言して言いなさい。主なる神はこう言われる。剣だ。剣が研がれ、磨かれた。

21:2 "Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, preach against the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel;

21:6 "Sigh therefore, son of man, with a breaking heart, and sigh with bitterness before their eyes.
21:7 "And it shall be when they say to you, 'Why are you sighing?' that you shall answer, 'Because of the news; when it comes, every heart will melt, all hands will be feeble, every spirit will faint, and all knees will be weak as water. Behold, it is coming and shall be brought to pass,' says the Lord God."
21:8 Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
21:9 "Son of man, prophesy and say, 'Thus says the Lord!' Say:'A sword, a sword is sharpenedAnd also polished!
21:10 Sharpened to make a dreadful slaughter,Polished to flash like lightning!Should we then make mirth?It despises the scepter of My Son,As it does all wood.
21:11 And He has given it to be polished,That it may be handled;This sword is sharpened, and it is polishedTo be given into the hand of the slayer.'
21:12 "Cry and wail, son of man;For it will be against My people,Against all the princes of Israel.Terrors including the sword will be against My people;Therefore strike your thigh.
21:13 "Because it is a testing,And what if the sword despises even the scepter?The scepter shall be no more," says the Lord God.
21:14 "You therefore, son of man, prophesy,And strike your hands together.The third time let the sword do double damage.It is the sword that slays,The sword that slays the great men,That enters their private chambers.
21:15 I have set the point of the sword against all their gates,That the heart may melt and many may stumble.Ah! It is made bright;It is grasped for slaughter:
21:16 "Swords at the ready!Thrust right!Set your blade!Thrust left-Wherever your edge is ordered!
21:17 "I also will beat My fists together,And I will cause My fury to rest;I, the Lord, have spoken."
21:18 The word of the Lord came to me again, saying:
21:19 "And son of man, appoint for yourself two ways for the sword of the king of Babylon to go; both of them shall go from the same land. Make a sign; put it at the head of the road to the city.
21:20 "Appoint a road for the sword to go to Rabbah of the Ammonites, and to Judah, into fortified Jerusalem.
21:21 "For the king of Babylon stands at the parting of the road, at the fork of the two roads, to use divination: he shakes the arrows, he consults the images, he looks at the liver.
21:22 "In his right hand is the divination for Jerusalem: to set up battering rams, to call for a slaughter, to lift the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to heap up a siege mound, and to build a wall.
21:23 "And it will be to them like a false divination in the eyes of those who have sworn oaths with them; but he will bring their iniquity to remembrance, that they may be taken.
21:24 "Therefore thus says the Lord God: 'Because you have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are uncovered, so that in all your doings your sins appear-because you have come to remembrance, you shall be taken in hand.
21:25 'Now to you, O profane, wicked prince of Israel, whose day has come, whose iniquity shall end,
21:26 'thus says the Lord God:"Remove the turban, and take off the crown;Nothing shall remain the same.Exalt the humble, and humble the exalted.

2:19 They shall go into the holes of the rocks,And into the caves of the earth,From the terror of the LordAnd the glory of His majesty,When He arises to shake the earth mightily.
2:20 In that day a man will cast away his idols of silverAnd his idols of gold,Which they made, each for himself to worship,To the moles and bats,

17:1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.
17:2 "And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly."
17:3 Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying:
17:4 "As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations.
17:5 "No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.
17:6 "I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you.
17:7 "And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.
17:8 "Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."
17:9 And God said to Abraham: "As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.
17:10 "This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male child among you shall be circumcised;
17:11 "and you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and you.
17:12 "He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised, every male child in your generations, he who is born in your house or bought with money from any foreigner who is not your descendant.
17:13 "He who is born in your house and he who is bought with your money must be circumcised, and My covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
17:14 "And the uncircumcised male child, who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant."
17:15 Then God said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.
17:16 "And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her."
17:17 Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, "Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?"
17:18 And Abraham said to God, "Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!"
17:19 Then God said: "No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.
17:20 "And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.
17:21 "But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year."
17:22 Then He finished talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.
17:23 So Abraham took Ishmael his son, all who were born in his house and all who were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskins that very same day, as God had said to him.
17:24 Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
17:25 And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
17:26 That very same day Abraham was circumcised, and his son Ishmael;
17:27 and all the men of his house, born in the house or bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised with him.
18:1 Then the Lord appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamre, as he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day.
18:2 So he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing by him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground,
18:3 and said, "My Lord, if I have now found favor in Your sight, do not pass on by Your servant.
18:4 "Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.
18:5 "And I will bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you have come to your servant." They said, "Do as you have said."
18:6 So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah and said, "Quickly, make ready three measures of fine meal; knead it and make cakes."
18:7 And Abraham ran to the herd, took a tender and good calf, gave it to a young man, and he hastened to prepare it.
18:8 So he took butter and milk and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree as they ate.
18:9 Then they said to him, "Where is Sarah your wife?" So he said, "Here, in the tent."
18:10 And He said, "I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son." (Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him.)
18:11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age; and Sarah had passed the age of childbearing.
18:12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, "After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?"
18:13 And the Lord said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh, saying, 'Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old?'
18:14 "Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son."
◆「迷い出た羊」のたとえ

18:15 But Sarah denied it, saying, "I did not laugh," for she was afraid. And He said, "No, but you did laugh!"
◆結婚について

7:6 もっとも、わたしは、そうしても差し支えないと言うのであって、そうしなさい、と命じるつもりはありません。
7:7 わたしとしては、皆がわたしのように独りでいてほしい。しかし、人はそれぞれ神から賜物をいただいているのですから、人によって生き方が違います。
7:8 未婚者とやもめに言いますが、皆わたしのように独りでいるのがよいでしょう。
7:9 しかし、自分を抑制できなければ結婚しなさい。情欲に身を焦がすよりは、結婚した方がましだからです。
7:10 更に、既婚者に命じます。妻は夫と別れてはいけない。こう命じるのは、わたしではなく、主です。
7:11 ――既に別れてしまったのなら、再婚せずにいるか、夫のもとに帰りなさい。――また、夫は妻を離縁してはいけない。
7:12 その他の人たちに対しては、主ではなくわたしが言うのですが、ある信者に信者でない妻がいて、その妻が一緒に生活を続けたいと思っている場合、彼女を離縁してはいけない。
7:13 また、ある女に信者でない夫がいて、その夫が一緒に生活を続けたいと思っている場合、彼を離縁してはいけない。
7:14 なぜなら、信者でない夫は、信者である妻のゆえに聖なる者とされ、信者でない妻は、信者である夫のゆえに聖なる者とされているからです。そうでなければ、あなたがたの子供たちは汚れていることになりますが、実際には聖なる者です。
7:15 しかし、信者でない相手が離れていくなら、去るにまかせなさい。こうした場合に信者は、夫であろうと妻であろうと、結婚に縛られてはいません。平和な生活を送るようにと、神はあなたがたを召されたのです。
7:16 妻よ、あなたは夫を救えるかどうか、どうして分かるのか。夫よ、あなたは妻を救えるかどうか、どうして分かるのか。
7:1 Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
7:2 Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.
7:3 Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband.
7:4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
7:5 Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
7:6 But I say this as a concession, not as a commandment.
7:7 For I wish that all men were even as I myself. But each one has his own gift from God, one in this manner and another in that.
7:8 But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am;
7:9 but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
7:10 Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband.
7:11 But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife.
7:12 But to the rest I, not the Lord, say: If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is willing to live with him, let him not divorce her.
7:13 And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him.
7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.
7:15 But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace.
7:16 For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife?
◆敵を愛しなさい
6:27 「しかし、わたしの言葉を聞いているあなたがたに言っておく。敵を愛し、あなたがたを憎む者に親切にしなさい。
6:28 悪口を言う者に祝福を祈り、あなたがたを侮辱する者のために祈りなさい。
6:29 あなたの頬を打つ者には、もう一方の頬をも向けなさい。上着を奪い取る者には、下着をも拒んではならない。
6:30 求める者には、だれにでも与えなさい。あなたの持ち物を奪う者から取り返そうとしてはならない。
6:31 人にしてもらいたいと思うことを、人にもしなさい。
6:32 自分を愛してくれる人を愛したところで、あなたがたにどんな恵みがあろうか。罪人でも、愛してくれる人を愛している。
6:33 また、自分によくしてくれる人に善いことをしたところで、どんな恵みがあろうか。罪人でも同じことをしている。
6:34 返してもらうことを当てにして貸したところで、どんな恵みがあろうか。罪人さえ、同じものを返してもらおうとして、罪人に貸すのである。
6:35 しかし、あなたがたは敵を愛しなさい。人に善いことをし、何も当てにしないで貸しなさい。そうすれば、たくさんの報いがあり、いと高き方の子となる。いと高き方は、恩を知らない者にも悪人にも、情け深いからである。
6:36 あなたがたの父が憐れみ深いように、あなたがたも憐れみ深い者となりなさい。」
6:27 "But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
6:28 "bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.
6:29 "To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either.
6:30 "Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.
6:31 "And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.
6:32 "But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
6:33 "And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
6:34 "And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back.
6:35 "But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.
6:36 "Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.
◆善いサマリア人

10:25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"
10:26 He said to him, "What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?"
10:27 So he answered and said, " 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.' "
10:28 And He said to him, "You have answered rightly; do this and you will live."
10:29 But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
10:30 Then Jesus answered and said: "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
10:31 "Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
10:32 "Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side.
10:33 "But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.
10:34 "So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
10:35 "On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.'
10:36 "So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?"
10:37 And he said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."
◆神の国が来る
17:20 ファリサイ派の人々が、神の国はいつ来るのかと尋ねたので、イエスは答えて言われた。「神の国は、見える形では来ない。
17:21 『ここにある』『あそこにある』と言えるものでもない。実に、神の国はあなたがたの間にあるのだ。」

17:28 ロトの時代にも同じようなことが起こった。人々は食べたり飲んだり、買ったり売ったり、植えたり建てたりしていたが、
17:29 ロトがソドムから出て行ったその日に、火と硫黄が天から降ってきて、一人残らず滅ぼしてしまった。
17:30 人の子が現れる日にも、同じことが起こる。
17:31 その日には、屋上にいる者は、家の中に家財道具があっても、それを取り出そうとして下に降りてはならない。同じように、畑にいる者も帰ってはならない。
17:32 ロトの妻のことを思い出しなさい。
17:33 自分の命を生かそうと努める者は、それを失い、それを失う者は、かえって保つのである。
17:34 言っておくが、その夜一つの寝室に二人の男が寝ていれば、一人は連れて行かれ、他の一人は残される。

17:20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would
come, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God does not come
with observation;
17:21 "nor will they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you."
17:22 Then He said to the disciples, "The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.
17:23 "And they will say to you, 'Look here!' or 'Look there!' Do not go after them or follow them.
17:24 "For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day.
17:25 "But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
17:26 "And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:
17:27 "They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
17:28 "Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
17:29 "but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.
17:30 "Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
17:31 "In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back.
17:32 "Remember Lot's wife.
17:33 "Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
17:34 "I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left.
17:35 "Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left.
17:36 "Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left."
17:37 And they answered and said to Him, "Where, Lord?" So He said to them, "Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together."
